Here are some basic instructions on how to set everything up.
Quick Installs
Streamlabs .OVERLAY
- Launch Streamlabs OBS and go to "Settings"
- Press the "Import Overlay File" button under the "Scene Collections" tab
- Locate and click the .overlay file in "2. Quick Install\Streamlabs\"
- Woo-hoo! Everything is set up in your Scene Collection
OBS Studio .JSON
- Extract the main folder of your downloaded stream package to the C:\ drive
- Launch OBS Studio
- Open the "Scene Collection" tab and press "Import"
- Press the "Add" button and navigate to "\2. Quick Install\OBS Studio\*Color*\"
- Locate and double-click the Retro_Computer_Animated.json file from the folder
- Press "Import"
- Switch to your imported scene in the "Scene Collection" tab
- Congratulations! Your Package is ready to use
How to Add New Elements to the Screens
Our Quick Installs for this Stream Package include a preconfigured scene with all the screen elements we've prepared. To use them, follow these steps:
Using Preconfigured Elements
- Open Your Overlay Package: Launch OBS Studio or Streamlabs Desktop and open your overlay package.
- Navigate to "Screen Elements": Go to the "Screen Elements" scene in your overlay package.
- Choose Your Element: Open the folder with the elements you want to use and unhide the desired element.
- Copy the Element: Right-click on the element and select "Copy."
- Paste in Your Scene: Return to your original scene, right-click in the Sources section, and select "Paste (Reference)."
- Adjust as Needed: Adjust the position and scale of the element to fit your layout.
Adding Elements Directly from Individual Files
- Open Your Overlay Package: Launch OBS Studio or Streamlabs Desktop and open your overlay package.
- Select or Add a Media Source: Double-click the asset you want to replace or add a new Media Source.
- Browse for Files: Click "Browse" in the "Local File" field.
- Choose Your Asset: Navigate to "3. Individual Files\Screens" and select the asset you want to use.
Alerts
Streamlabs Quick Install
- Log in to your Streamlabs account
- Open the "Quick Installs" folder in the downloaded archive
- Open the "Streamlabs" folder
- Open the folder with the color you want
- Double-click the Retro Computer Alert - Streamlabs.URL file
- Victory! Streamlabs will let you know that your alert is successfully imported
StreamElements Quick Install
- Log in to your StreamElements account
- Open the "Quick Installs" folder in the downloaded archive
- Open the "Streamelements" folder
- Open the folder with the color you want
- Double-click the .URL file that corresponds to the platform of your choice
- Success! StreamElements will let you know that your alert is successfully imported
Adding Alert to Streamlabs OBS
- Install your alert via the Retro Computer Alert - Streamlabs.URL file
- Open Streamlabs OBS
- Press + button in the sources section
- Select "Alertbox" in the pop-up menu
- Give it a name and press "Add Source"
- Press "Done"
Adding Alert to OBS Studio
- Install your alert via the corresponding .URL file
- Copy the alert's URL from your streaming platform (Streamlabs or StreamElements)
- Open OBS Studio
- Press + button in the sources section
- Select “Browser” in the pop-up menu
- Give it a name and press "OK"
- Paste your alert's URL in the corresponding field
- For Streamlabs Alerts set Width to 800 and Height to 600; For Streamelements Alerts set Width to 1920 and Height to 1080
- Press "OK"
Stinger Transition
Our Stinger Transitions come preconfigured with Quick Install .overlay and .json files but in case you want to use it outside of the downloaded pack here's a little guide covering all the steps needed to set it up
Streamlabs OBS
- Press the gear icon in the upper-right corner of your scene
- Press the "Add Transition" button
- Give your transition a name in the "Name" field
- Press the "Type" field and choose "Stinger"
- Press on the "Video File" field
- Browse to "\3. Individual Files\Other\Retro Computer_Transition.webm" and press "Open"
- Choose "Time (milliseconds)" in the "Transition Point Type" field
Set your transition point in the corresponding field
Please note that all of our stinger transitions have a transition point set at 1000ms, but it can be different if you're adding your own transition so don't forget to configure it accordingly.
- Your stinger will appear in the general list of transitions. Activate it by pressing the circle on the left side and press "Done"
- Success! Your stinger transition is set up
OBS Studio
- Press the + button under the "Scene Transitions" bar
- Choose "Stinger" and give your transition a name
- Press on the "Video File" field
- Browse to "\3. Individual Files\Other\Retro Computer_Transition.webm" and press "Open"
- Choose "Time (milliseconds)" in the "Transition Point Type" field
Set your transition point in the corresponding field
